SEQUORA STUDIES

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 August 2026
Draft notice: This document was drafted to get Sequora Studies to launch quickly. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Given the service handles data from students who may be minors, get it reviewed by a qualified lawyer in Bangladesh before treating it as fully compliant.

1. What this covers

This policy explains what data Sequora Studies collects, why, how it's stored, and what control you have over it. "We," "us," and "Sequora" refer to Sequora Studies, operated by Findrum Technologies.

2. Information we collect

CategoryExamples
Account infoEmail address, display name, password (hashed, we never see it in plain text)
Study dataSubjects, topics, study sessions, exam papers, logged mistakes, notes, exam date, qualification/exam board
Payment infobKash transaction ID, amount, and the bKash phone number you optionally provide for verification. We never collect your bKash PIN or full account details — payment happens directly between you and bKash outside our systems.
Usage dataLogin timestamps, feature usage (e.g. AI Advisor call counts, for quota enforcement)
Optional AI inputsWhatever you choose to send to an AI feature: study prompts, syllabus PDFs, and photographs you take — of a question, your class routine, a page of your notes, or a marked exam script showing your own marks. These are sent to our AI providers to generate a response. See section 4.

3. How we use your information

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your study data for advertising.

4. Third-party services we use

We rely on established third-party infrastructure providers to run Sequora. Except where section 4a says otherwise, each processes your data on our behalf and under their own security and privacy practices:

FunctionPurpose
Database & authenticationStoring your account and study data, and verifying your sign-ins
Application hostingServing the Sequora web app
Transactional emailSending signup verification, password reset, and activation emails
AI processingReading photos you submit, and generating study advice, questions and citation suggestions — only when you use those features

We don't publish the specific vendors we use for infrastructure. If you have a legal or security reason to need this information (e.g. a data protection request), contact us at the email below.

4a. An exception you should know about: our AI providers

Our AI features run on xAI (Grok) and Google (Gemini). We name these two because the sentence above does not fully apply to them.

Sequora currently uses Google's free API tier. Under Google's published terms for that tier, Google may use what you send to a Gemini-powered feature, and what the model sends back, to improve Google's own products, and human reviewers may read it. That is Google acting for itself, not only on our behalf, which is why we are calling it out rather than leaving it inside the table above.

In practice this covers what you actively submit to an AI feature — a photograph of a question, your class routine, a page of notes, or a marked script; a syllabus PDF; a prompt you type. One thing is sent alongside it: when you use photo matching, we also send the names of your own topics, so the model can tell you which of them a question belongs to. Names only — no marks, no progress, no dates.

It does not cover your account details, your marks, your study history, your saved notes, or anything else in your account. None of that is sent to an AI provider unless you put it in a photo or a prompt yourself.

If you would rather nothing of yours reached an AI provider on these terms, simply do not use the AI features: everything else in Sequora works without them. We intend to move to Google's paid tier, on which Google does not use submitted content for product improvement, as the service grows, and we will update this section when we do.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a secure database with access controls scoped per user, meaning only you (and, where necessary, Sequora administrators for support and payment verification) can access it. Traffic to Sequora is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, the live account and everything attached to it (subjects, topics, sessions, papers, errors, subscription history) is removed from the service within a few minutes, and your access ends immediately.

We keep a closed-account record after that. It contains a copy of the account as it stood when it was closed, and we keep it to meet accounting and tax obligations on payments, to investigate fraud and abuse, and to resolve any dispute about a payment or a subscription. It is stored separately, is reachable only by us, and is never used to restore, re-open or re-create an account, and never to build a profile of you.

Closing your account does not reserve your email address. You are free to sign up again with the same address at any time; that is a completely new account and it starts empty.

If you want the closed-account record removed as well, email us at the address at the end of this policy and we will delete it, except where we are required to keep a payment record by law.

7. Your rights

You can, at any time, from the app's Toolkit tab:

You can also update or correct your profile information (name, qualification, exam date) at any time via Edit Profile.

8. Children's privacy

Sequora is intended for students aged 13 and up, many of whom are minors studying for school exams. If you are under 18, we assume a parent or guardian is aware of your use of the service. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

9. Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and to cache your data for a faster experience. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
